Website Linking Guidelines

The NCPL actively encourages other sites to link to its pages, provided that any such link does not connote an endorsement by or affiliation with the NCPL System. Links must be text-only and accurately labeled and must accurately represent the content and source (the NCPL System) of the linked page(s).

In view of the dynamic nature of the NCPL System’s website and the possibility of updates and changes to the NCPL System’s pages, we prefer that links enter the NCPL System’s site at the home page (http://www.nottlib.org).

The additional guidelines are to be followed by other sites linking to pages of the NCPL website:

1. Do not present NCPL System pages or content as your own. Do not incorporate any content from this site into your site (e.g., by in-lining or framing or in any manner) or alter the appearance of the NCPL System pages.
2. Please contact NCPL to advise us that you are linking to these pages and include the URL of your page that contains the link. The NCPL System reserves the right to revoke its consent to the link(s) at any time.
3. If you want to republish the major part of any textural content on NCPL System pages, please contact NCPL to request a written release first. We require that a link to the NCPL System website be placed with any hypertext republication of major textural content from the NCPL System page(s).
4. In accord with existing copyright laws, excerpts from any textural content on the NCPL System pages may be quoted freely, providing that full and proper attribution is given, including the NCPL System URL.
5. A link may be created to the URL for an image on the NCPL System website but the image itself may not be downloaded into another hypertext document without written permission from the NCPL System. If you wish to reproduce or use an image from the NCPL System’s website for publication, you must obtain written permission from the NCPL System in advance. For more information, please contact NCPL.
